Law enforcement
Linxocial LLC cooperates with law enforcement to protect our members and the public, while safeguarding member privacy as the law requires. This page explains how authorized officials can request information from us.
How to submit a request
Send requests to legal@linxocial.com from an official government email address, or by mail to Linxocial LLC, 11740 West San Vicente Boulevard, Suite 109, Los Angeles, California 90049. We do not accept requests by phone or through member-facing support channels.
Every request must include:
- An official, signed document on agency letterhead.
- The requesting agency, the officer’s name, badge or identification number, and direct contact details.
- The legal process relied on, signed and dated.
- The account concerned, identified by email address, phone number, or profile name.
- The specific information sought and the period it covers.
What legal process we require
We disclose member information only in response to valid legal process under applicable law, including the federal Stored Communications Act:
- Subpoena: basic account records, such as name, email, phone number, registration date, and payment records.
- Court order: other non-content records, such as login history.
- Search warrant: the content of communications, including messages and photos.
We review every request for legal sufficiency and may reject or narrow requests that are overbroad, vague, incomplete, or improperly served. The examples above are a general guide. What we can provide depends on the request and the law that applies.
Emergency requests
If there is an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury to any person, we may disclose information without legal process. Email legal@linxocial.com with the subject line “Emergency disclosure request” and describe the emergency, the information needed, and why it cannot wait. We review emergency requests as quickly as we reasonably can.
Preservation requests
On receipt of a signed preservation request, we will preserve the specified account records for 90 days, and for a further 90 days if the request is renewed, pending service of legal process.
Requests from outside the United States
Requests from authorities outside the United States should generally be made through a mutual legal assistance treaty, letters rogatory, or another process valid under United States law. We may consider emergency requests from any jurisdiction.
Child safety and trafficking
We report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as United States law requires. We report suspected human trafficking to the appropriate authorities and preserve the related records.
Notifying members
We do not generally notify members or the public about law enforcement requests. We may do so where we consider it appropriate and the law allows.
For members
If you have been the victim of a crime involving another member, report it to your local police and to us at safety@linxocial.com. Where we can, we will preserve relevant records and cooperate with investigators through the process above.
